Founded in March 2001, Modafone's first store launched at Labourdonnais St., Port Louis. With initial lines of activities being sales and repairs of mobile phones and computers, Modafone has rapidly evolved into a forward-thinking company operating multimedia stores across major shopping malls in Mauritius, trading in a panoply of telephony products, electronic games and accessories.

The history of our Group is intricately linked to the history of our nation, and as Mauritius progressed, so did our Group over the last 50 years.
Evolving from our 1970s beginning of Magasin Said, operated by Sheik Abdool Said Maudary as a proximity/convenience store in Port Louis, the Group re-oriented its activities into the technology sector in the 2000s and into the urban mobility, property development and beauty sectors later towards the end of the 2010s.
Our slogan 'Little hands. Build wonders.' is a testimonial to our humble origins and to how we have grown over the decades via our wider range of business activities. We aspire to develop into a more integral part of the day-to-day activities of our customers while helping them to achieve a gratifying lifestyle.
